Who knew that a relaxing and educational swamp tour can be found just minutes from downtown New Orleans? Make the drive yourself, or let us pick you up. Either way, you're closer than you think to a day of adventure like you've never experienced.
Our swamp boat tour cruises deep into the protected bayous of the Jean Lafitte National Park and Preserve, giving you a taste of Louisiana swamp life. You'll see about moss draped cypress trees, fascinating plant life and the creatures who make their homes here, such as alligators, snakes, egrets, white-tailed deer, mink and nutria. Learn why our wetlands are disappearing due to coastal erosion and in turn the efforts to correct the damage it has done and restore this vital habitat.
Your Cajun guide is a native of the area who will share the legends and lore of Louisiana's still untamed wilderness, including our allligators! Our captains are certified to educate and handle live gators and will get your swamp boat deep into alligator habitat while teaching about alligator life cycle and conservation.
Jean Lafitte Swamp Tours have been featured on Showtime, Fox Sports, and Entertainment Tonight. Bring your camera and capture wildlife at any time!
Our Coast Guard certified swamp boats can accommodate up to 360 passengers when all six of our tour boats are in use. Each boat has restroom facilities and sells concessions. School groups are welcome and a picnic area with a pavilion that can seat up to 150 is available for the children to bring a bag lunch.
